Gwydir Wetlands State Conservation Area

GROUND BAITING: 14 April - 30 June 2025

The Gwydir Wetlands State Conservation Area is a significant protected area located approximately 60 kilometres northwest of Moree in New South Wales. It plays a crucial role in preserving a remnant of what was once a vast inland wetland system. Over 75 waterbird species have been recorded here, with at least 50 species known to breed in the area.

The baiting activities undertaken at Gwydir Wetlands State Conservation Area are managed by the Barwon office of the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.
