Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area

Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area is a protected area located near Orange. Mount Canobolas is an extinct volcano that last erupted approximately 11-13 million years ago. The area's volcanic history has shaped its current landscape. Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area is a biodiversity hotspot, home to over 950 species, including a wide array of birds, mammals, and threatened species.

The baiting activities undertaken at Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area are managed by the Central West Area office of the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.
