Pilliga East State Conservation Area

Pilliga East State Conservation Area is a significant protected area in northern inland NSW, established in December 2005 and covering 24,711 hectares. Located approximately 40 kms northeast of Baradine, it forms part of the extensive Pilliga Forest system, which spans over half a million hectares and represents the largest native forest west of the Great Dividing Range. Pilliga East State Conservation Area provides critical habitat for at least 14 threatened animal species, including several notable species.
The baiting activities undertaken at Pilliga East State Conservation Area are managed by the Castlereagh office of the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.
