New England National Park

New England National Park is a protected area located approximately 560kms north of Sydney and 85kms northeast of Armidale, in the Northern Tablelands region. The park was created in 1935 and is one of the oldest national parks in New South Wales. It covers an area of approximately 72,241 hectares and is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area. The park supports a rich diversity of plant and animal species, including many rare and threatened species.
The baiting activities undertaken at New England National Park are managed by the Coffs Harbour office of the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.
